Yes I know, its about time I updated this site!!
Thanks for a great 2016
The Weiser family is going into its 26th year of growing fruits and veggies at Hackleboro Orchards. Seems like
only yesterday we were moving onto the farm.
In 2016 Hackleboro was the unfortunate victim of Mother
Natures wrath, not only affected by the drought, as many farms were, but experienced a hard freeze in April that wiped
out more than 70% of the apple crop along with all the peaches, plums, and nectarines. The strawberries and
blueberries were spared as the pick your owners can attest to. Had to shuffle around our pick your own apple sites to parts
of the orchard that had apples and varieties people were looking for. Yes apple size was an issue this year with the lack
of rain over the summer.
Because of the short crop we do not have apples to carry us through the
winter so we will not be attending any winter farmers markets but will be back at markets this summer
